Established in 1894 by AD Smith, our independent bookshop has a rich heritage. After relocating to the Tannery following the Christchurch earthquakes, we continue to offer a unique selection of books. Our collection features over 20,000 titles, including new and second-hand books, ephemera, magazines, and art supplies, all available both in-store and online. While we carry a variety of international titles and children's literature, we specialize in rare and out-of-print books that celebrate New Zealand's culture and history.
